  • MEET DR. PULAPAKA

drjpDr. Pulapaka graduated from one of the top three residency programs in the United States. Her training has taken her to the Yucatan for advance limb deformity training and a Fellowship in Trauma, Reconstruction, and Limb Deformity from the Ilizarov Institute in Russia.  She is the second woman to complete this training in Russia.

Initialy, she first began treating spider veins in Tallahassee, Florida while working with a plastic surgeon from 1992-1995.  Her interest in spider vein treatment carried over as she completes her advance surgical training for the lower extremity. Dr. Pulapaka is an Associate member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the only podiatrist who is a member of AAPSM in Volusia County for Sports Medicine.

In 2005 began my own private practice DeLand and Orange City and enjoyed that until 2008, where I decided to focused my care full-time to the DeLand community.  DFALC was the first female podiatric surgeon’s office in a community where less than 10% of the surgeons were women. It is the first and longest-running female surgical practice in West Volusia County.   “I believe every patient needs a physician who will be an advocate to help them regain their health”. Her surgical training has taken her to Miami for her residency and the Ilizarov Institute for her fellowship. She was the first certified Women-Owned medical practice in the United States.

I’m grateful to have studied with some of the world’s most influential podiatrists and with a master surgeon for external fixation. I emphasize in surgery, wound care, sports medicine, and nail disorders as well as general preventative podiatry care.

In 2013, I began to focus on wound care and limb salvage, a specialty missing in our area; completing my Certified Wound Specialist Physician (CWSP) in 2016. Also in August, 2016 I was certified with the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry - Prevention and Treatment of Diabetic Foot Wounds and Diabetic Footwear.

We have hundreds of satisfied patients. Dr. Pulapaka is the highest-rated podiatrist in DeLand. Please read Dr. Pulapaka's curriculum vitae to learn about her background and education. Dr. Pulapaka’s husband and Cress’ Executive Chef Hari Pulapaka have been a driving force along with her family. Their support has enabled her to be successful.
