Podiatry is a field of medicine that strives to improve the overall health and well-being of patients by focusing on preventing, diagnosing, and treating conditions associated with the foot and ankle. Doctors of Podiatric Medicine (DPMs) are physicians and surgeons who practice on the lower extremities, primarily on feet and ankles. Established in 1912, the American Podiatric Medical Association is the premier professional organization representing the nation's Doctors of Podiatric Medicine.

Cosmetic Procedures: We all strive for self-improvement
"Everyone has the right to be able to feel good about him or herself". Dr. Pulapaka believes cosmetic podiatric procedures and surgery is a highly personal choice, and as a surgeon, she strives to support every patient’s goals for self-improvement. Every woman or man deserves to feel confident about their appearance and Dr. Pulapaka believes strongly in your right to feel complete and comfortable with yourself, inside and out.

    Cosmetic Procedures: Spider Vein Treatments

Dr. Pulapaka first began treating spider veins in Tallahassee, Florida while working with a plastic surgeon from 1992-1995. Her interest in spider vein treatment carried over as she completed her advance surgical training for the lower extremity. Although most podiatrists can perform surgery on common foot conditions, here at DeLand Foot and Leg Center, we also pay special attention to the cosmetic appearance following our procedures. Our patients not only enjoy relief from painful conditions but are thrilled at the cosmetic result achieved by our experienced cosmetic foot surgeons.

Arteries bring blood from the heart to the extremities, veins, which have one-way valves, channel blood back to the heart. If the valves don't function well, blood doesn't flow efficiently. The veins become enlarged because they are congested with blood. These enlarged veins are commonly called spider veins or varicose veins. Spider veins are small red, blue or purple veins on the surface of the skin. Varicose veins are larger distended veins that are located somewhat deeper than spider veins.

There are two general treatment options: conservative measures, such as compression stockings, and "corrective" methods such as sclerotherapy. The cost for treatments runs approximately $250.00/50 injections. A consultation is required, but will be deducted if a treatment plan is established that day.
